Opened in 2016, Deeside Sixth is a friendly and vibrant place, offering an excellent library and cutting edge IT facilities which support study and independent research. Facilities include an art studio with open air terrace, product design suite with 3D printer and laser cutter, drama studio, music centre and large science lab. Students are encouraged to use the new library and lecture theatre.

All students are able to utilise the latest technology in our ICT and Mac suites, as well as Chromebooks in all teaching rooms.

In addition to the A level subjects you choose yourself, we will further support you to achieve your potential by enrolling you on the Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate which you will study as an additional A level and which will assist you to develop additional academic and employability skills.

Deeside, Deeside Sixth, and University Centre has an excellent skills reputation. The award-winning Engineering Centre of Excellence is one of the best engineering training facilities in the UK and the recently opened University Centre featuring world-class facilities to support degree-level students. The sports facilities are some of the best in the region and we also boast the Estyn rated ‘excellent’ Toybox Nursery available to students and the community.

Yale has long-standing excellent reputation and is home to many vocational courses and apprenticeships. Having recently undergone a £20m redevelopment, Yale boasts, specialist teaching facilities, science laboratories, computer suites and art studios. All students have access to the latest technology and are encouraged to use the university style library. The creative industries facilities at Yale are some of the best in the region. Commercial facilities include the recently renovated Salon Ial and professional training restaurant Hafod. Yale Nursery is available to support students with childcare.
