Student President
Student Vice President
There’s nothing better to put on your CV or university application than Student President. You’d be one of only two Presidents at Coleg Cambria, so it’s a very lucrative role! You’ll be a helping hand and an empathetic ear for all your fellow students and their comments or concerns. As well as that, you will:
If you successfully apply to be a Student VP, you’ll be one of only five students lucky enough to secure this role. As a VP, a lot of your responsibilities will be similar to those of the class and campus reps, but you’ll also:
You might prefer being a Campus Rep. You’d be one of twelve campus reps at your site, with all twelve reps usually becoming very fast friends. As a Campus Council Rep, you’ll have all the duties of a Class Rep, but you’ll also:
Be elected as a representative for your class to give a voice to your peers. You’ll receive training and support from the college in the first term to help you in your role. All you need to do is register to attend via the Student Voice website. As a class rep you’ll:
You and other Class Reps will run a class meeting once a year with the rest of your classmates. This meeting is known as the Classroom Viewpoints meeting. You will need to make sure that the topics discussed in the meeting are written down. The meeting notes are then passed to your course tutor, who will then discuss them at their course meetings.
As a Class Rep, you’ll also take issues raised, if they’re not related to the course, to the Class Rep Meetings – held once a term. You’ll then get feedback from the course tutor and from the Big Class Rep meetings, which you’ll share with your group.
In your first term, you and all the other Class Reps will be invited to the first Big Class Rep meeting. This will give you the information you need to get going – and there will be some fun activities to break the ice and help you get to know everyone.
You’ll also receive more training, which will include what to do with information your classmates tell you, and linking with Student Services.
Transport providers and timetable information can be subject to change. For clarification, please contact Student Services via telephone/email or your On Track dashboard.
Get involved with Student Voice to really make a difference while you’re at college. It’s the best way to really be heard and you’ll not only see positive change at Coleg Cambria; you’ll be making it happen.
There are many ways to get involved, but the fastest way is to put yourself forward as a Class Rep this September by letting your tutor know you’re interested. As an elected Class Rep you’ll be the voice of your classmates, able to run your own class meetings and attend Rep Review meetings to discuss college-wide student issues. Take this great opportunity to have your say!
